Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) president Mayawati made headlines on Friday with her declaration of a “record-breaking” turnout at the rally held in Lucknow commemorating the 19th death anniversary of party founder Kanshi Ram. The mass gathering, especially notable for its enthusiastic youth and women’s participation, has reportedly left rival parties feeling “sleepless and nervous.”
Mayawati shared her sentiments through a post on X, a day after the impressive show of support at the Kanshi Ram Memorial on VIP Road. She emphasized the palpable enthusiasm among attendees who chanted slogans to pledge their commitment towards establishing a BSP government in Uttar Pradesh for the fifth consecutive time. This collective display reflected a strong sense of solidarity and determination among the party’s supporters.
The former chief minister pointed out that it is understandable for opposition leaders to become unnerved by such a visible show of strength. She advised her supporters to disregard any “meaningless remarks and statements” from rival factions. Her words resonated with party loyalists, reinforcing their sense of purpose.
Mayawati highlighted a significant cultural aspect of the BSP’s mission, expressed through her appreciation for the Bahujan supporters who aspire to realize the vision of Baba Saheb Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, aiming to empower the oppressed through their electoral influence. “The people of the Bahujan Samaj have shown the entire country how committed they are to fulfilling Baba Saheb’s dream,” she stated, reinforcing the party’s narrative of ascending from oppression to governance.
As the party prepares for what Mayawati describes as ‘Mission 2027’, their campaign geared towards the next Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, she called on party workers to remain vigilant against the “divisive and deceitful tactics” used by political rivals. Her contrast of the BSP’s vision against those opposing it aims to motivate party cadres and supporters alike.
In her expression of gratitude, Mayawati acknowledged her party functionaries and workers from all 75 districts for their efforts in mobilizing lakhs of supporters to the rally. She also extended thanks to those paying tribute to Kanshi Ram across India, describing their involvement as a powerful symbol of unity and strength in advancing the BSP’s objectives.
