15 Illegal Structures Demolished in Anantnag’s Drug Crackdown

The District Administration of Anantnag has intensified its efforts against drug-related crimes by demolishing 15 illegal structures on Saturday in Waghama, Bijbehara. This action forms part of the ongoing 100-Day Nasha Mukt J&K Campaign aimed at eradicating drug abuse and trafficking.

Officials announced that this comprehensive enforcement drive involved a joint operation between revenue officials and police forces to dismantle illegal constructions. The demolished structures included 15 shops unlawfully built on State and Kahcharai lands associated with Khasra Nos. 2494 (min) and 2495 (min).

These structures had connections with individuals implicated in violations of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. This operation marks a crucial step in reclaiming public assets dedicated to community use and protecting them from illegal occupation.

Restoration of encroached land signifies a significant commitment by the Anantnag administration to uphold public ownership of land. The District Administration confirmed their zero-tolerance policy towards drug-related offenses and illegal encroachments, asserting that stringent actions will persist as part of the campaign.

The authorities articulate that dismantling illegal properties associated with drug trafficking represents a strategic initiative to disrupt narcotics supply chains operating within the district. They believe this can lead to a safer community, free from the harms of drug abuse.

District officials delivered a stern warning, stating that any person found engaging in drug-related activities or illegal land encroachments can expect rigorous legal repercussions in the days ahead. This latest operation underscores the broader efforts of the Jammu and Kashmir administration to combat drug issues and reclaim illicitly occupied lands.
