Tejashwi Yadav Detained in Patna During NEET Protest March

RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav faced detention in Patna on Wednesday while he led a protest march addressing police actions related to the recent NEET paper leak protests in Bihar. According to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kartikeya K Sharma, Yadav was taken into custody near the Income Tax office.

During the arrest, Yadav expressed deep concern for students, stating, “The government is pushing the future of students into darkness. Exam papers are getting leaked frequently.” His remarks came as he was escorted into a police van.

Leading a group of RJD leaders and supporters, Yadav organized the protest march from JP Golambar towards Lok Bhavan earlier on Wednesday. The march aimed to highlight the issues surrounding the NEET examination and the subsequent police actions.

The situation escalated when police deployed water cannons against the marching protesters, including Yadav, as they attempted to breach barricades set up along the route. Witnesses reported the tense atmosphere as police tried to maintain order.

Yadav condemned the government’s heavy-handed response, asserting, “It is important to understand the emotions of Gen Z.” He criticized the administration’s use of severe measures against students who demanded a fair and transparent examination process.

The RJD’s protest reflects growing unrest among students and political activists in Bihar regarding the integrity of the examination system. Recent incidents of exam paper leaks have intensified calls for accountability and reform within the educational framework.

As the protest unfolded, public sentiment strongly reflected support for Yadav’s stance. Many students worried about the implications of repeated examination failures and perceived anomalies in the NEET process. This protest is part of a broader narrative in Indian politics, focusing on education and youth engagement.

The NEET protests have attracted widespread attention, not just in Bihar but across the country. This incident underlines the recurring theme of student unrest and their demand for justice and transparency in governance.

As political tensions mount in Bihar, observers will closely monitor the developments arising from this protest and the government’s subsequent actions. The handling of such protests may significantly impact the BJP-led government’s standing among the youth in Bihar as the state gears up for future electoral battles.
